Here comes the porn, here comes the porn…
Don’t get too excited, i’m just talking about food porn.
This is all from the past 3-4 days. I’ve been busy. Are you ready?
Man, being vegan sucks. You’re so deprived, living on twigs and berries…and uh…um. Hey there, sexy. What’s your name? Come closer, you say?
Okay, okay. I take it back. I’m sorry, i’ll never doubt you again. So uh…can I see you again sometime?
(I ate that whole stack. Barely. Fronch Toast from Vegan with A Vengeance.)
Here is the bread I made the fronch toast from – Coconut Pecan Swirl, tester for Celine.
Getting ready to roll it up.
I cooked mine for a touch too long, which is why it was perfect for fronch toast.
I made a tester polenta for Joanna, and decided to pour it into muffin tins to make teeny tiny cakes.
I pan fried it the next day and ate it with Joanna’s braised cauliflower. Yes, I put ketchup on them. Don’t judge me!
My husband asked for pizza, so while the dough was rising, I got out the trusty grill pan and grilled some veggies for my pizza. Zucchini, summer squash, onions, and tomatoes.
It was pretty damn good.
Close up on the onion action. I didn’t put enough on!
Yesterday, I made cookies for Kelly and my husbands co-workers (no photos, I was in a hurry!), and when dinner rolled around I was pretty beat. So I made what I lovingly dubbed Farts In A Bowl, aka chili mac. I still have gas. God damn. I didn’t have a lot of pasta, so it’s mostly seasoned TVP, leftover seasoned nooch, and a can of chili beans. I added some sun chips and a garnish for class.
Muffins! I still have a ton of strawberries and blueberries, so I made two kinds. I wrote down the recipe for the Red, White, and Blueberry (y’see how I was clever there?) Muffins, i’ll blog it later. I didn’t write down a recipe for the grape muffins, but it goes something like this:
Use 1/2 cup grape jelly to replace part of the sugar of a basic muffin recipe. Fold on about a cup of black seedless grapes, sliced in half. Ta da.
They baked fast. I set my timer for 15 minutes, and when I came back they were already done and quite brown. They taste much better fully cooled, in my opinion.
Inside shot. I think next time I would add a little grape juice to the batter, because the jelly made it purple but it doesn’t really show after they’re baked except for a faint hue on top. And then maybe they’d taste a little more grapey, I really can’t tell that the jelly is in there.
And that’s it!
