I took photos of my cabinets, tagged everything in them, and put them in a set on Flickr.  You may notice some key things missing, like the oils (over the stove) and canned goods (on a shelf in the laundry closet).  I totally forgot about them.  Ah well.

I started putting things into plastic containers a few years ago.  It might make it seem like i’m crazy organized, but the point of having everything neat like that is that i’m a total slobby spaz, and things tend to get lost or bags get spilled or whatever.  They make all kinds of plastic storage containers for the kitchen, but those things can cost anywhere from $3-20 depending on the size.  Screw that!  I buy those Ziplock containers that are so popular these days.  Less than a dollar a piece.  Keeps a tight seal.  I can see where everything is.
