Vegan MoFo 15: Cop-out time with a survey!

I was hoping I wouldn’t have to resort to this so soon, but here it is, almost eleven, and I have no idea what to post about.  So imma fill out this MoFo survey I found!

What is one food you thought you’d miss when you went vegan, but don’t?
Probably cheese, like everyone else does!  I really don’t miss it and when I think about eating it or smell it I get grossed out.  I don’t even like touching it for other people.
What is a food or dish you wouldn’t touch as a child, but enjoy now?
I was honestly not a picky child.  Even if I was, my parents subscribed to the ‘you will sit at the table all night until you eat it’ way of parenting.  My parents were horrible cooks and I ate a lot of nasty boxed food, over-boiled vegetables, and dry meat so as long as it was fresh tasting, I would put it in my mouth.
What vegan dish or food you feel like you “should” like, but don’t?
I already mentioned quinoa, hrm.  I also don’t like olives, but I don’t think I should like them because they are disgusting!
What beverage do you consume the most of on any given day?
Green and peppermint iced tea, in a 3:1 ratio, out the wazoo!  Water if i’ve run out of tea and don’t feel like making a new pitcher yet.
What dish are your “famous” for making or bringing to gatherings?
Probably peanut butter chocolate pie.  One of my friends doesn’t like cake so I mostly make it for him.
Do you have any self-imposed food rules (like no food touching on the plate or no nuts in sweets)?
Hell no!  I will eat food mixed together, in a house, with a mouse, in my bed, on my head.
What’s one food or dish you tend to eat too much of when you have it in your home?
Anything junky and sweet.  I try to not buy packaged cookies or anything like it because I will eat them until I make myself (literally) sick.  I can keep a bag of chocolate chips around to eat on when I have a chocolate craving because for whatever reason, i’m able to eat straight chocolate in moderation.
What ingredient or food do you prefer to make yourself despite it being widely available prepackaged?
As an extension of the last one, sweets!  Not just because I can make exactly how much I want to eat and not have to deal with leftovers or binging, but because mine taste better.
What ingredient or food is worth spending the extra money to get “the good stuff”?
Chocolate.  If I stopped being vegan tomorrow, I would still prefer a good dark chocolate over crap like Hershey’s or Dove.
Are you much of a snacker? What are your favorite snacks?
I try to forsee periods where i’ll do more grazing at the fridge than cooking and try to plan accordingly.  I like bananas and grapes because they’re convenience foods that are good for me.
What are your favorite vegan pizza toppings?
Pineapple, hands down!  I also really like pre-grilled onions and tempeh sausage.
What is your favorite vegetable? Fruit?
Onions are my favorite vegetable.  They make everything taste better.  I eat way too many bananas to consider anything else my favorite fruit.
What is the best salad dressing?
A simple oil and vinegar dressing with some herbs.
What is your favorite thing to put on toasted bread?
If we’re talking normal breakfast toast, Earth Balance and cherry fruit spread (it’s like cherry pie in a jar).
What kind of soup do you most often turn to on a chilly day or when you aren’t feeling your best?
Vegetable stew with dumpings!  This survey is making me super hungry.
What is your favorite cupcake flavor? Frosting flavor?
My favorite combo of all time is a vanilla cupcake with chocolate buttercream.
What is your favorite kind of cookie?
Chocolate chip, with whatever add-ins i’m feeling like (mint, peanut butter, nuts, cranberries).
What is your most-loved “weeknight meal”?
I talk a big talk, but I eat a lot of cereal for dinner.  Also even though I like to make a big meal to eat leftovers off of for days, I don’t really have a steady meal I make.  I just think about what particular things I want to eat (broccoli, tofu, a pile of chocolate), and base my meal off of that.  I rarely meal plan.
What is one dish or food you enjoy, but can’t get anyone else in your household to eat?
Pretty much everything?  I don’t get to stray from the white and brown food groups very much if I want other people to eat with me.
How long, in total, do you spend in the kitchen on an average day?
I go in spurts.  I will marathon cook for 3-4 hours occasionally, and on other days I will only shuffle in to reheat my leftovers or pour a bowl of cereal.
